It can take a few months for things to filter through the system and defaults to show up on your credit report. My virgin card disappeared completely and then showed up as an Intrum debt with a default about three months later. It's not that likely that someone would go straight for a ccj, it's more likely that they'll spend a few months sending letters of increasing threat level first.

Thank you all for replies, my only worry is still no default on my credit file yet I’ve been passed to these guys……. So was just thinking of the next step?
    do I contact Hastings?
Or do I start payments without default I don’t want a CCJ.

    thanks again for support
Legal action can only be taken after an account defaults, until then, the original agreement is still in place and you haven't broken it, so there`s no basis for legal action.

Not that these idiots can do anything of the sort anyway, as the debt has only been equitably assigned to them, they are only managing the account on behalf of the lender.

All they can do is write and call and ask you to pay, nothing more.
