Kent Reliance Problems

allotments2025
Opened a new savings account with this business at the weekend and have had nothing but problems with it so closed today. Initial setup process was problematical with continued outages of their system. When finally opened and I tried to transfer money in post the CAP period Kent Reliance kept returning no account held to my bank. Finally got transfer to go through this morning and received text and email confirmation. Then tried to set up a standing order only for Kent to say once again no account. Called Customer Services who where particularly unhelpful and obviously had not checked if they had IT issues. Have now closed the account.

It might not have helped in this case, but personally I avoid opening new accounts etc at the weekend.0

I think KentRel are in the process of upgrading their systems/platforms... might be the possible cause0

I’ve been with KR for 3 years. Absolutely no issues.0

Opened easy access account with them Friday easily enough. Email said CoP would be available next day but it wasn't until Sunday tea time that I could transfer funds. However after that transfers in and out havd been instant, faster than any other bank. I had received an email from them acknowledging receipt before I had logged off Lloyds.
However applying for an ISA on their old system was terrible. Applied online, received email saying account approved and open but nothing appeared and promised email re account details never arrived. Rang Monday morning to be told that there was an issue with the application. Customer Services have a great ability to turn the tables and blame the customer for their failures, especially in communication1 -
Exactly the same problem when opening a new savings account. Initial deposit not taken, then my bank doesn't recognise the bank details of the new account. Will give it a few days, but will probably end up closing the account.0

I actually have had a very good experience. Opened the account yesterday - Bank Holiday - waited until today and the CoP set up to make initial deposit. Got receipt confirmation from KR by text immediately. I thought it was very efficient especially the verification of email and mobile number during the account opening process meaning that it was all up and running in fifteen minutes from starting the application. Hopefully this will continue to be my experience with them🙂0
