AVG free edition - virus vault question

Hello, I have the AVG free edition and when I checked it recently I found it has a few nasties locked away in the virus vault, a couple of viruses and a trojan horse. I read on this board that someone had a similar problem, and they deleted the files. Is this safe or am I likely to cause a problem? I know very little about this kind of thing. I suppose I am thinking that if the virus or trojan has attached itself to some of my own information or files etc. then as well as deleting the nasty bit, I may be deleting something of my own as well. Any advice would be very welcome!
:hello:  please play nicely children !

you should be able to safely do so, without any problems.0

oh thanks for that! I'll do it now. I just wanted a bit of reassurance from someone who knew more about it than me!:hello:  please play nicely children !0

If it wasn't safe to do, AVG wouldn't have vaulted the files, it would have asked you what to do with them
