There seems to be something wrong here? I just had a look and there were various offers beating my current deal energy deal. But, on closer examination, it turned out that annual savings amounts were at odds with the annual cost?

Cheap Energy Club assumes that you movements the current SVT at the end of whatever deal you're currently on, and calculates savings vs. that.

Was it always that way? I thought it was against your current tariff?

You can change whether you want it to calculate savings against what you're paying now or when your deal ends.

Yeah, that's what I thought thanks, but now it seems stuck?

On my phone I scroll down to 'your results' and there's a bar you can swipe to get to how you compare the results. On the laptop it's under filters at the left hand side 'compare all results against'. I haven't tried the app so is it that you're having trouble with?

It's useless for people like me when they don't show your existing tariff and therefore the comparison is always made against the standard tariff.    It tells me that I can save over £200 a year but when you look at the figures I'd be more likely paying an extra £200 a year.

I'm with Octopus, the biggest supplier in the country, and yet they haven't got all the tariffs listed.

It had me confused at first.  I have it set to against current tariff and apparently £1933 is 5% cheaper than £1859 saving me £74 pa.  It seems it cannot cope with negative savings.  Did the 5 yr old programmer they employed  not check their work ?

If you're currently on a smart tariff (from Octopus or anyone else) a simple comparison site isn't going to make a meaningful comparison.
If you're on a conventional tariff, that's more of a shortfall from the site.
