Stronger, Smarter and Saving

Options
Time to face my debt head on and I thought this would be a nice little corner of the internet to document it.

I have about £10k on a 0% card and just under £5k at 5.9%, so I'll start with that smaller card.

OH has about £10k across 2 cards too - they're both on 0% deals so we've set them up to pay min payments only at the moment, so we can tackle the one with interest. He's also paying a car loan that only has 3 months left.

Most of the car loan money will be eaten up by a hike in our mortgage come October though so we can't really snowball all of that when the car is paid off.

Here's to smashing that 5.9% card ASAP!

I didn't really want to get into details about where the debt came from but it's mainly because I was really sick a couple of years ago and I had to unexpectedly take time off work. At the time I was debt free and I had £10k in savings (thankfully!) so I know I can get back to that. I'm now recovering (from cancer and financially) and have a steady income again so onwards and upwards! No time for excuses.

    PAD to cc - £3.56; Now £4,970

I've posted my Vinted sale - £37 heading my way

Made 2 sales from my side hustle - £20 (but I don't like to cash that out until I've sorted next year's tax)

Need to chase new bank to make sure I'm on track for the sign on bonus.

Hi Loobidoo, I've found your diary. Well done on your Vinted sale and your side hustle money. I need to take a leaf out of your book and sell what isn't nailed down. Health is the most important thing, so important. Good luck in August.

Aw, thank you for dropping by everyone!  :)

PAD to credit card - it doesn't really tie in with YNAB as I guess I'll need to find the extra pennies from another category but I try to take down my bank balance to the next nearest pound/few pounds - so £1.13 today.

Working my 2nd job tonight - £20 for about an hour's work. And chased another payment of £30. :)

Just hanging on tightly until payday on the 7th of the month!

Do you have any categories which also have odd amounts at the end of them that you can just round them down to cover the PAD?  I think that's what I'd do.  A few pennies from a few different categories would be fairly easy to cover.
