Hello everybody, purchased a fire tv from Amazon around 4 months ago, they will not offer a repair or best for me a replacement, as the tv has serious faults with it, they will only offer a refund, having contacted cab they were a complete waste of time, any advice will be much appreciated

Shame the full refund won't buy the same TV (but would you really want that same, unreliable, brand again) as you got it with that big "discount"?
But that's how Amazon always do it (as opposed to some MarketPlace traders) and the repair/replace/refund decision is one for the Retailer not the Consumer in any case under the Law (as I understand it).
Put the refund towards the purchase of a better quality TV? or wait for the next "sale".

It is only* where the trader fails to provide a such remedy that the consumer then has the right to reject (for a refund) or seek a price reduction.
*The consumer can not insist upon one remedy of repair/replace over the other if it is disproportionate to the other or where it is impossible.
If the TV was on a discount at the time and that is no longer available there may be a loss of a bargain claim or the consumer may opt to seek alternative remedies to those afforded under the CRA, such as seeking damages.
The answer to accept the refund is probably the right one because Amazon have moved CS overseas and the trouble involved to attempt to enforce the right to a repair or replacement is too great, particularly for a TV.
There may however be instances where the consumer has a legitimate interest in insisting upon repair/replace and the consumer may indeed achieve such by presenting their knowledge of their rights. The erroneous mantra that the trader has a choice in the matter, instead of the correct assertion that the consumer has specific rights, does little to correctly assist those seeking advice.
Should OP return to say the TV is beyond economical repair and the TV is no longer available for purchase then it would be correct that the refund is the appropriate remedy, I would however expect any trader dealing with such a situation to clearly explain this to the consumer to negate the need for the consumer to question the matter. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1
