Living in Airbnb between house moves - any insurance tips?

Hi! We've sold our house and will be moving into a new build. The timings do not work out, so to make sure we do not lose the sale we will be living in an Airbnb for approx 6 weeks...
Most of our goods will be in storage. At the Airbnb we will take clothes, the cats, laptops and jewellery... which we want to insure (very safe area - but you never know!). Any tips out there on insurance?
Too long for the holiday insurance I have (and as I'd be working once settled in, suspect would invalidate the insurance if we had to claim)
Normal household contents Insurance companies do not provide such insurance. Searched for short-term house insurance / Non standard home insurance... despite them advertising this is the type of scenario they will insure, when you speak to them they do not! They only want to insure a full year and not the the scenario described (must be a permanent home)
Any advise gratefully appreciated!
Thanks

You are right that travel insurance is not the right option. Try looking for Renters insurance. You'll probably need to buy an annual policy, then cancel it when you move again - it's a legitimate option for your circumstances, as this will be your permanent rented home, albeit for a short period. You'll almost certainly incur some kind of cancellation cost, so look for a policy with lower cancellation charges, and that does refund the unused portion of the premium.
One provider example here, there are others: https://www.coop.co.uk/insurance/home-insurance/renters-insurance1 -

There are some that give world wide cover of PP without time limits, some others give generous time limits like 90 days. If they will be happy continuing the policy for the 6 weeks whilst you are between properties is another matter.RipleyG said:You are right that travel insurance is not the right option. That said, it may be a case of changing the home insurance to contents only and covering the AirB&B for the 6 weeks1 -
Thanks! Yes spoke to current insurer - did not want to entertain this... Although seemed happy if I kept what would be the old address and continued to pay an unoccupied premium!!! Not sure if not understanding a simple request or having a laugh!
Agree re renters = contents insurance - there is no difference but some companies seem to try in on.
Have gone with the co-op - good quote, very simple, no cancellation fee.
Thanks all - very much appreciated.0
