Pricing for retiling

I need some help please.  My kitchen needs re-tiling.  It’s approximately 1m high and 9m long in three sections.  I assume that is 9square metres?

the tiles I want cost 30sq metre, so that’s around £270 and say another £100, for odds and sods, is that correct?

thanks

    No.

You need to allow for cuts and matching any patterns  - 10-20% extra is typical...  9 sq.m to cover will -> 11 sqm to purchase.  Maybe more if there are sockets and switches in awkward locations wrt the pattern.

Best to buy on sale or return to get the same batch / colour match so buy a bit more, possibly.

Speak to your tiler they will advise what they want/need/prefer and may even be able to get the same tiles cheaper as part of the whole job.

Tilers will charge usually at least £30sqm for the work, so essentially double the cost of the tiles and you wouldn't be far off the total cost.

When we did our bathroom, the tiler said if we went to a certain outlet, he had a trade account there, which would mean a good discount.
We actually bought them ourselves, but just mentioned his name and got the discount.
