Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting us off. It's raining here with a moderate breeze that's due to turn gusty as the morning moves on, brighter and drier this afternoon but still very windy. We're under a yellow weather warning so not expected to be as badly affected as those further North. Please stay safe if that's you.
After yesterday's lethargy and brain fog, I'm feeling much brighter (thank goodness) and intend to start on clear out Stage 3 - tools. DS could be popping in for a flying visit to collect a few as their new WM was delivered earlier than expected on Saturday teatime and he wants to get it installed asap. He'll be in the area anyway for a morning appointment for routine blood tests so it's not out of his way. The new TV I ordered on Saturday is being delivered this afternoon so that could be another job for him at some stage if I can't work out installation but there's no rush. Tea tonight is a chicken salad, apple pie & custard for afters.
@TA - Not a great start to your van trip! I do hope it gets better as the week goes on.
@AA - That's beautiful book binding, glad you enjoyed the course.
@-taff - I may have understood the basics of chess but, like you, strategy will probably be my downfall!
@Ruby - Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the labels you need to finish off your new larder cupboard. Had to smile at the kitchen rearranging though - it will take a while to get used to what's where!
Have a good start to the new week if you can, I'll be thinking of those struggling with health concerns - please take a virtual hug if you need one. Take care all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Hello all, it's windy and rainy with the odd bit of sunshine, I think the weather is confused down here. I didn't have a good night so feel like crawling under a rock for the rest of the day but I have a sm delivery coming this morning. I'll sort it out as it's mostly Dad's with a few bits of mine thrown in and then take it up to him, hopefully we can miss the worst of the rain. He wants me to look for some different sheets while I'm there as the ones he has on his bed are too big and he's catching his dickie foot in it. I don't want him falling as he probably wouldn't get back up. That's the plan for the day except cooking tea which will be something and hm chips.
taff trust you to lower the tone, 50 shades indeed ! 🤣The mind boggles 🤔
TA hope you stay really safe in the van, I hate the wind at the best of times but being in a van of any type gives me shivers.
AA you should be very proud of your book binding, they look lovely.
YorksLass hope the TV instalment isn't too difficult and you can do it yourself.
Sorry I have forgotten what anyone else said, apologies.
Stay safe in the storm everyone, look after yourselves.
nan xx

Good morning 😊It's going to be a quiet day here, as well. The open air theatre group we went to see yesterday, were really good. The weather stayed nice, so we enjoyed our picnic. Overall, it was a good weekend.Today, it's mostly chores; as always the half-bathroom, but I also want to tackle under the stairs. I noticed yesterday, when I retrieved the picnic basket, that it's looking untidy. The trouble is, I sort it, and the others mess it up. It needs doing, though.I also need to think about emptying the small freezer, as it could do with defrosting. I've taken out packs of green vegetables - asparagus, broccoli, leeks, celery, and green peas - then chopped up an onion, and put it all in the slow cooker with stock, and pot barley, to make a soup for lunches in the week.I also took out some Singapore noodles, sliced peppers, sweetcorn, and diced chicken, which will feed the meat eaters later. I am going to have mushroom steaks with spiced wedges, and salad. If I don't put anything else in the freezer, it should be empty by the end of the month, but that never happens.
@AlwaysAllie your book bindings look great.
Try and rest up a bit today, if you can @ScarletRibbons
Stay safe, those in the path of Storm Floris
Hope you all have a good day 😊11
