DCBL / Euro Car Parks - 'HM Courts & Tribunals' Claim

Hi so needing a bit of help as this is making me feel pretty stressed..

So the Claimant is Euro Car Parks Limited, and the 'Address for Sending Documents and Payments to is' DCB LEGAL LTD

Now back story this is dated to 05/01/2022, I was working on site when the new car park was basically going under construction/changing hands, the shop I was working at didn't have a terminal to input said reg number, and if my memory serves me right even if she did have one it wasn't connected as of yet 

They're saying there I must respond to the claim before the response date on the enclosed form, and if I dont could result in a CCJ, amount owed is £220.96 + Court Fees, Plus Legal Rep Fees £305.96 

Now here's the thing, im currently going underwriting on a property I've just bought, and really don't want any CCJ's or anything of the kind against my name, I cannot risk losing this home - do I fight this, or do I try and settle it out of court? I know that goes against everything you guys would suggest, but I'm worried if I submit a defence and lose I'll get issued with a CCJ?

Any help would be appreciated, the issue date on the letter is the 31 July 2025

No, you'll only get a CCJ if you DON'T submit a defence.

DCB Legal make hundreds of these claims a week and have absolutely no intention of going to a hearing in front of a judge. They discontinue at the eleventh hour, so probably around Christmas and into next year.

Just use the template defence (see the sticky). Explain the circumstances (no terminal) in paragraph 3.

No CCJ is left if you lose at a hearing (you'd just pay, LESS than the claim. No CCJ).

There is zero risk as long as you do as we advice. The claim will be discontinued later on so you won't even be dragged to any hearing.
