Morning, thanks Gers, hope you're all right.
It's grey here, there's been a few drops of rain, but hardly enough to wet the ground.
Great to see you Nan, sorry to read that you've had a difficult time though.
Good to see NRA as well.
Ruby hope your cupboard arrived and that you've had fun filling and arranging it, it sounds lovely.
Dp1 sounds like you had a good time on the beach with the little one. I know what you mean about the temperature at the beach though. The NE coast is not renowned for its balmy temperatures, you were lucky!!
Hope you're all right today Mehefin.
Izzy, I knew you weren't far away! Do you ever shop in Bishop Auckland?
We had a good day out yesterday, it stayed warm. We were both tired when we got home but it was a nice day out.
Not much going on today. I must do a little shop. I was going to do an online shop last night but a friend rang and she was on the phone for nearly an hour and a half. It was 8.45 when I finally got off the phone, and I couldn't face doing an order. I'll do it this morning.
Thinking of any poorly or sad people. Take care folks.16 -
Thanks for the start Gers
Yesterday was busy! Got loads done, feels like a drop in the ocean. None of it is urgent but I’m very good at putting pressure in myself to do things and not very good and just sitting and doing nothing. Finally sat down to read a book at about 8pm and then felt guilty cos there were a couple of hours I could have been doing something else. Wish my brain was wired differently.Anyway, total change today as I’m off out to do a craft workshop on Coptic book binding - should be fun and I love anything paper/stationery based and we come home with two journals!Hope everyone has a good Sunday - take care

Good morning
Thank you for the start @Gers, lovely photo
Bright and sunny this morning so I'll do a few jobs in the garden. My gardener came but he didn't seem to get much done.
Nan lovely to see you posting, sorry things are difficult for you at the moment.
Mehefin pleased your evening went well.
Ruby enjoy your new cupboard.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.14 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, stay safe from the storm that's on it's way.
Bright and sunny this morning but it's been raining overnight. We have a weather warning for very high winds later so will have to put some of the garden furniture under cover. DD and family are in the Hebrides with their van and tent box, they spent last night in the van and have booked accommodation for the next couple of nights as it sounds like it will be quite rough.
I did lots at the allotments yesterday, started digging out some of the thick clay in allotment 2 and replacing it with new compost. Heavy and hot work but at least some of it is done.
Good to see you again Nan, sorry you've not been too good.
Pleased to hear your evening went well Mehefin.
Enjoy your workshop Allie.
Glad you had a good day out Scarlet.
I'm off to see DS1 and family today, we'll see how the new car is on a longer journey.
Happy Sunday, take care. XX15 -
Morning again - I fell asleep again and feel better for it.Overnight there was lots of rain, now it's dry'ish and cloudy with lots of wind. The forecast for the storm is rather alarming, it seems to be a wind event. The muse took me yesterday to cut the back lawn yesterday. The grass was still wet - don't think I've done more than one dry cutting this year - so it looks mangled again. The day was rather lovely, not glorious but one of those days when it's not bad nor good, sort of ambient.I did some shopping in the big town so enjoyed the drive each way. Salad stuff topped up and chicken too. Later I drove into the wee town to look at the Viking & Pictish festival which was being held on the green. It looked lively and full of people which meant that I couldn't get parked so came home. I enjoyed seeing folk dressed up.An event I had a ticket for in Glasgow next month was cancelled the other day. Just before I cancelled my hotel last night I saw that there was a comedy gig on the same night (Josie Long) so have booked a ticket for that instead. The refund from the first one will pay for it. Serendipity in motion. Now, this morning I'm taking a punt on the band of rain having moved eastwards away from here so have put on a white wash. The winds are just perfect to get my knickers fluttering on the line and dry. What a lovely post @DP1 - your little one has such a great view of her world. A day on the beach is certainly a perfect way to be happy. Have a great time at your caravan @TA.I hope that everyone stays safe during storm Floris. The electricity company has sent out alert texts so I'll prep candles and check batteries. I'll also get the wood burner ready to light. I love being prepared. Hugs to our poorlies and sads and a sprinkle over everyone.15

Good morning 😊
My body didn’t want to drag itself out of bed today, but my mind was alert, so I didn’t see much point in lying there. We’ve had rain overnight, and it is forecast for later, but I’m hoping it holds off as we are going to see The Merry Wives of Windsor in an outdoor theatre production. I bought picnic foods on the way back from our hike yesterday, so need to sort the picnic basket from under the stairs, and give that a clean. The ponchos will be packed, just in case.
My eye appointment on Friday, was so-so. The pigmentation is still breaking down, but it is draining. The only change since January is that the optic nerve in the left eye is enlarged. Not enough to be concerned, but it’s another red flag for glaucoma, so they can’t discharge me for now. At least they don’t need to see me again for another six months.
We’re going to do a bit of work in the back garden this morning. It really needs it, as well. It’s one of those jobs we’ve been putting off, but it seems cooler out there, so we may as well.
Dinner this afternoon, is minted goat breast for the meat eaters, and chilli infused vegan salmon for me, with parmentier potatoes, and roasted Mediterranean vegetables. We will need to eat early, as the play starts at five o’clock.
Hope you all have a good day 😊13 -
Morning everyone Scarlet I’m pleased you enjoyed your day out I quite often go to the castle just for a wander where the Spanish art gallery is now and the tapas restaurant was a large department store called Doggarts I worked there when I left school it was like grace brothers the little box went up to the office with customers money in and they sent the change back but we did get tills not long after I started and I spent most of my lunch hours eating my sandwiches in the park I sometimes have a wander up bondgate there’s some lovely little independent shops there but unfortunately there is nothing in the town much I still can’t believe until a few years back you couldn’t move for shops and people and when we were kids we had to hang on to my mams coat or we would of got lost it was so busy but the market place is getting a lot done to it I have a soft spot for it the town hall is beautiful it looks like a French chateau and off course There’s Kynren which brings people in from all over the world but wether the high street ever recovers only time will tell unfortunately it’s like a lot of places . Nan nice to see you posting stay safe Gers we are supposed to get heavy rain and winds overnight although it’s raining now not a lot happening today Sunday lunch will be made at some point today I’ve got a bargain of a little joint in the oven at the minute I had forgotten to take anything out of the freezer and I called into a local shop because they sometimes have these little Irish beef joints in for £7.50 and the butchers was closed the girl said we only have one left I was just taking off the shelf as it has today’s date on it I asked if she could still sell me it she said only if I reduce it and you bare in mind it is today’s date so she gave me it for a pound I’ve never worried about a date in my life I don’t know how I’ve survived. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing13

Morning allDH and DS put our new shed together yesterday and it took absolute ages. When they went too put it into place we realised that when we measured for it we didn't take into consideration the guttering at the back of the garage and it wouldn't fit in. There were cms in it but it just wouldn't squeeze in!! We've put it somewhere else but now there is a bare place which backs onto part of next door garden and it looks so messy there. We'll have to think about what we're going to do to make it look presentable.Curry and rice for dinner and then the F1Have a good day all11

Morning all
Dry here for now but some rain due later I have some washing on the go so hopefully I can hang it out later.
The cupboard arrived at 5.30 yesterday just we were lighting the bbq 🙄 so we quickly fixed the top to the bottom and then OH fixed it to the wall, so today I will give it a good clean (I dread to think how many grubby fingers have touched it while in the shop) and then have the joy of arranging stuff in it 😃
Bbq for dinner as long as the rain holds off there is some pasta salad left from yesterday so I will just make up a quick salad this morning and then we are good to go.
Stay safe those of you in the path of the storm xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
