I’m planning to use a sprayer, (Vonhaus 800W) but standard Cuprinol is so thick it was nearly impossible to use with the machine. I know there’s a version made for sprayers, but it’s quite a bit more expensive. I may try thinning it with around 10% water to see if that helps. If not, I might have to resort to brushing it on—which is definitely more time-consuming.

Take great care with the sprayer. We had a real problem when my mother in law’s neighbour sprayed his fence…..and the wall….and mother in law’s garage door and frame 🤣
    Agreed!
My neighbours sprayed their side of our boundary fence and managed to spray my line full of light laundry at the same time :o
Fortunately it was only a light spraying. The kids grew out of their school shirts in no time, but our duvet cover still has fence stain on it after years of regular washes ...

The Autumn Gold was painted over 7yrs ago.
It seems to have worn off the cross beams. But trying to repaint the wood had baked so hard that the ducks back wouldn't stick.
New painted is a stronger colour ....... But also on panels it varies with the wood.
In this pic you have some about 5yrs old nearest and you can see one newly painted at the furthest end.

Neighbours fence, cheap and pretty grim both sides.
The ones I got for my side were feathered , treated and I left natural.

I like the Forest Oak colour. My concern is that I'm surrounded by 'in your face ' fence and while would show off the plants nicely in summer would make winter dark.
Bit moot, so many plants, no space to paint 🙂
I think that Ducksback has a bit on the tin about "best applied to sawn wood" or something like that and not very good on planed wood .

I have closeboard fencing and AG looks really good on it but have a Wickes wooden gate that is smooth T & G and it doesn't look the same but water still runs of the gate ok.

Does say on tin as above
It's a pity that they can't add something that prevents the green growth
Perphaps only paying £2 a litre is to much to ask for this to happen

It certainly sinks in better into rough wood as it is water based. I tend to pressure wash any moss or algae off the fence before painting and then apply when the wood is still damp.

This certainly seems to open up the grain and makes the colour soak in and last much longer.

finally went with Autumn Gold—though I accidentally painted some on the back of my car, as you might’ve seen in my other thread! That’s being sorted out now.
