Onmo credit card pre-approved

I checked my credit report apps yesterday, TotallyMoney being the first one and saw that I was 100% pre-approved for an Onmo credit card at £500 credit limit. I decided to check their website as I hadn't heard of them before and did an eligibility check on there. It came back approved for £500 credit limit and bought up the pre contract to agree to.

I decided to check my other credit report apps to see if I was approved for any other cards, so checked Experian next. On there it said I was 100% pre-approved for the same Onmo card but with a £1200 credit limit. I went to apply through Experian, not realising i still had a tab open with the offer from before. Filled out the form with the exact same details as before and it came back saying I wasn't eligible at all.

I then closed all my tabs, waited a day and tried again today, same thing, not eligible. I've checked TotallyMoney (transunion), Credibility (Equifax) and Experian today, all three credit agencies and they all say I'm 100% pre-approved. So I don't understand why Onmo is now saying I'm not.

Could it be because of the duplicate eligibility checks? Should I wait it out a couple more days and try again?

Possibly there have been too many hard searches on your credit history?  Possibly there's something about you that is only captured when you actually apply rather than go through a short "pre-approve" feature online.

If it's the hard searches then you'll need to wait longer than a couple of days.  More like a couple of months minimum.

Alternative - clear all your browsing history and try a completely different card.  One with a high interest rate but which you'll want to ensure you pay in full every month to avoid getting into debt.

£1200 is the default offered example limit, it doesn't always follow you would get more or less

The £1200 was coming from the guaranteed pre approved offer from Experian, that's why I was curious to try it through there. It's just odd that one minute I was accepted then 30 seconds later I wasn't, that's why I was asking
