Thomas Cook change hotel

I booked a package holiday with Thomas Cook.  The hotel has told me that they cannot longer accommodate me due to refurb work and that I’ll be offered an alternative by Thomas Cook.  The flights depart in 2 days and, although Thomas Cook are aware of the situation, they haven’t offered an alternative hotel.  I asked Thomas Cook if I could get a refund for the whole package holiday and they said I’d get a refund for the accommodation but not for the flights but they will find alternative accommodation. Do I have any rights to get a refund for the whole package holiday?  The hotel was the most important thing of the holiday and they cannot accommodate us there now.
I also have multi trip annual insurance.

TC have an obligation to offer an alternative hotel in the same resort area at the same or a higher standard.  I expect they will be working on this so you might need to extend some patience.

You don’t have the right to a full refund at this time. If however they offer you a hotel in a different location or a lower grade, or no hotel at all , then a full refund would be due as it seems you booked this as a package/linked travel arrangement.

Thanks, that is very helpful.
I land on Tuesday at 1am so hopefully it will be clear by then.
The hotel have confirmed several times in writing to me that they are not accommodating me and ghat Thomas Cook will offer me an alternative, it could get a bit sticky if Thomas Cook don’t contact me before my late night flight departure and I have to travel there to find my daughter and me without accommodation.
