As it appears only the table is faulty, any refund would only be in respect of that item and not the chairs. If rattan under glass is susceptible to damage by sunlight, then it is unlikely an inherent fault and more likely the fault of the owner for not adequately protecting it from sunlight
If rattan under glass is susceptible to damage by sunlight then that's the very definition of an inherent fault. The only get-out might be if the owner had been told very clearly in the manual that the product should be kept covered if not in use.
I’m not entirely convinced that’s a fault. It just means that rattan used in that way has a limited life. Things don’t last forever, and rattan is a natural material that looks good but is not well suited to life outdoors in the uk.

One aspect the op has not mentioned is how the furniture is described by the store. Does it say hard wearing for example? Maybe, a link to the website would help?
OP bought the furniture 3 years ago so would there be a way of getting that webpage with all the details on it after 3 years?

If the OP was to tell us the shop/manufacturer where they got it from after 3 years would the same make/item have the T&C's and details?

    Absolutely. All the above!

The Internet Archive may have stored the page, perhaps?

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

It is not a "fault" it is the nature of the material, just as untreated timber products exposed to the elements will rot. With the glass covered rattan table you avoid placing it in direct sunlight or cover it, with the wood you treat it.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

    This ^^.

Botanically, rattan is a tropical palm tree. It grows as a vine twisting and spiralling round other tree branches so it has evolved to be strong and supple, like a piece of string.

There are two types of rattan furniture, natural rattan and a factory-made polythene look-alike called PE rattan.

Natural rattan furniture looks sophisticated and is more pleasing to the touch than the synthetic alternative. However, natural rattan is vulnerable to the weather and suffers from prolonged heat or dampness, so it requires more care and maintenance.

Synthetic rattan is easier to care for and withstands outdoor life in the UK much better. However, it doesn't look quite as good.
