im wondering if anyone could help me this please.
Last year in August 2024 I received a letter from DCBL stating I had received a CCJ for a parking fine that I was unaware of.
After advice from this forum I filed a N244 application and went to court in January, which I then got the CCJ removed however the court decided to allow this to go to small claims track, I haven’t heard anything until today when I received a letter from court stating I have a hearing on the 19th of September.
I also received an email from DCBL trying to settle this which I will attach all the documents and emails below.

I am mainly just looking for advice in what to do in this situation.
Also I don’t understand one paragraph in the court hearing letter where it states ‘unless the claimant does by 4pm on 22nd August 2025 pay to the court the trial fee of £59’
does this mean that I have to pay it or the claimant?

The claimant pays it, for the original claim ( not the CCJ or set aside because you completed that part earlier )
You are the defendant, not the claimant !
5th September is your WS plus Exhibits bundle deadline for submission to court and claimant2 -
The claimant has to pay it.
Did you get your N244 court fee back for the set-a-side?3 -
I didn’t have to pay it due to being a single mum, so i wasn’t sure I had to complete another n244 application for this hearing2

No you don't but you must comply with the Directions which tell you to file snd serve a witness statement and evidence ... and I'd attach a defence if you were never asked to defend the PCN yet!
If you DID supply a defence after the first hearing please show us the defence. What happened that you got two PCNs?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Back in February 2024 I drove into excel parking as I was staying there due to a flood in my house, the parking machine wasn’t working and after trying to do it online and being unsuccessful I drove back about, I think I was there for about 25 minutes. Then in August I received a letter with CCJ about me failing to pay for the parking fine which I was unaware of.After this I filed a n244 application and managed to get the ccj removed.
The court had said to me that I will recieve a letter with court date and then I need to file a defence, I have only just received the court letter after 7 months of not hearing anything.0 -
OK so use the template defence, top of the forum AND ALSO draft a witness statement with exhibits (as explained and coached in the second post of the NEWBIES FAQS thread).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Courts are way behind, clogged up, so no wonder it's taking so long after the set aside
You must do what coupon mad stated, so defence, based on the new template defence, but with headers and footers from the old defence from over a month ago, and e sign it too
Plus an e signed Witness Statement plus Exhibits bundle as well, plus add a costs assessment to the bundle, if you are claiming costs ( this is as well as adding your new defence to the bundle, so a lot to do over5 weeks )2 -
Okay, thank you very much for your help!1

Is this to do with either of your two other open threads? If so, you should continue on the relevant one else regulars have to keep dodging between two (or more) threads to find relevant information. If not, continue on this thread but some background information would be useful.3
