in Credit cards
Hi everyone, just joined here and looking for some advice. in 2019 I incurred some defaults on credit cards. I have been making minimal payments every month to the debt collection agencies. I checked my credit file today and notice the defaults are now not showing.
I read soemwhere about requesting the CCA's from the debt collection agencies and if they couldnt provide them they couldnt enforce the debt.
I am unsure how this works.
I am happy to either keep paying the minimal payments (this will never pay off the debt in my lifetime).
Can I just stop paying if they cant provide the CCA's?
What are the implications?
Any info/help/advice greatly appreciated
Thank you

If your defaults are over 6 years then they are removed regardless of status.
A debt wouldn't be enforceable if they cannot provide the CCA (a reconstituted one is fine) so you can ask but if they can provide it, nothing changesSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
