2 PCN's in one day on a visit to London...

Options
Hi All,

I don't live in London but went there on Sunday in my car and picked up a friend in North London to go to the Columbia Road flower market.  Unfortunately this week I have received 2 PCN's in the post from different London Councils for this trip.  I have never done ths trip before so was totally unfamiliar with the area.  I just used Google Maps to navigate.

The 1st one on the way there was on Lansdowne Drive in Hackney not far from the market.  I didn't see any restirctions signs although I presume they must have been there.  I was using Google Maps for the journey so clearly it's not know about by maps either or it wouldn't have sent me that way.   From some research it seems that restrictions there were extended to 7 days a week in 2024 and it seems Hackney Council have been making serveral millions of punds from that one road alone.

The 2nd one was on my return journey and was Islington Council on Riversdale Road.  There the road was extremely quiet, few cars around.  I came up to a strange configuration with a wide gap in the middle of the road and extremely narrow gaps to the side.  As the gap to the side looked too narrow and I didn't want to break my wing mirrors I drover through the middle.  Big mistake unfortunately as that is where the camera caught me.  To be honest Istill don't understand what the purpose of this setup is !  I didn't see any signage but from the pictures I can see there are road markings.   For this one I did a search of this site and found someone had successfully appealed a PCN here in 2009 but it appears the road markings were incorrect at the time as they had a painting for a bike in the middle which has since been removed.

So my question is would there be any point in me trying to appeal either of these PCN's and has anyone had any experience with appealing for either of these locations ?

Thanks
Disgusted of Hertfordshire.

If these are council pcns, you should go over to the FTLA parking forum website and post your 2 queries over there after reading their posting requirements first

Yep but they are the experts on council ones so us signposting you there really is the best advice.

We are the experts on private PCNs.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
