ESA Assessment Decision Timescale?

Hi all

Wife is currently on the assessment rate of New Style (contribution based) ESA, has been since early April.

She had her work capability assessment just over 6 weeks ago. Was supposed to be in person, but was changed to a phone one just as we set off in the car to get there. Still no decision yet.

What's peoples recent experience on the timescale from assessment to decision? Is 6 weeks+ par for the course, or should we call them for an update or see if anything is delaying it?

Someone else asking today.... may take them a few weeks... sounds like they may be a bit slow at the moment.

You could contact DWP and ask for copy of assessment report which might give heads up on likely outcome and be potentially useful document.
