Doesn’t really affect your choices, but you’re lucky because your taps and shower will last a lot longer and need a lot less cleaning than mine do 😬

Plus will not need to use as much soap/shampoo to get a good lather .

We have 3  Aqualisa thermostatic showers, working off gas boilers, but they are  not  combi boilers, we have vented HW cylinders.

We still have one original shower , now 37 years old, the other 2 were replaced at 34 and 36 years, again with Aqualisa models, but only because we were refitting those bathrooms.   They have been changed from baths with showers over to just showers, using 900 x 1200 Mira Flight Safe trays.  Much easier to use at our advanced age, really pleased we did it.

The shower in our en suite is the one that gets the most use, we had to replace the cartridge in it after about 20 years, the other 2 are/were still as originally fitted, so we opted to stick with Aqualisa.

Ours are all recessed, just the controls visible, nothing fancy, so little to go wrong.  We too are in a soft water area.

Just seen that Gainsborough are made by Aqualisa, and a twin shower - rainhead & handset - can be had for around £150.
