Giving away metal bed frame, but want to drill holes and add nut's and bolt for slats, advice wanted

I bought a new bed and as the old frame got bent a little when I fell even though I sorted it theres a dent where the bend was, I also got some spare slats and replaced them but some slats are loose still and want to drill some holes into the frame and put nut and bolt in to stop them wobbling as that was the problem I had before, cable ties did work unless I put too much weight on one of the slats when I got in, the slats themselves are intact with no cracks and not bent.
I wanted to put something in, thinking a thicker nut and bolt to stop the slats from wobbling then I can give the bed away.

A photo would help to explain, but drilling holes in a steel frame should be relatively straight forward, but worth getting good quality drill bits.
As an alternative to nuts and bolts, you could 'tap' a thread in the steel, and just use bolts.0 -
TBH it sounds like it may not really be worth the effort to repair a damaged frame. Extra holes might have compromised the strength of the frame coupled with the frame having been bent.
If you are doing it to save you having to dispose of the bed then a scrappy will come and collect for free, your local facebook group should have posts from people wanting to dispose of metal items.1 -
I agree with MysteryMe above but wanted to add that someone may want the bed locally for a young child/teenager. Post it on your local freebie FB page and say you have had no problems with it as an adult and see if you get any takers. Set a timescale and then if no takers put it out for the scrapman.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
