Awful letting agent but will this make it harder for young families to find rental property in the private sector ?

    Why just young families?

Is it okay to hound and issue unlawful notices to older families,  couples, singles?

The case just happened to be about a young family.

I think it is (rightly) harder to persuade a court to issue an eviction where there are children involved.

Of course its not ok to issue other groups with unlawful notices. Its just that it is even worse to do so when there are young children involved.

I can see what you mean but I remember when I was renting privately I had more negative experiences with landlords and agencies than good ones and I should mention I am autistic and had a terrible few years in the 00's where I had a family member die, identity theft against me multiple times, criminal neighbours (actual criminals, as things like Police turning up with a battering ram to get into their properties)

Anyway one experience was I moved somewhere and paid the deposit and rent in advance and made the mistake of setting up a standing order to come out on the day rent was due, 10am on rent day at start of month 2 had agent at my door screaming at me saying pay them cash in hand right now or I will be evicted on the spot and comments/abuse on my apperance comments how they will take all my possessions and sell or dispose of them and bill me for it etc.

I nearly had a breakdown in that period so it was extreme and the agent made it worse.
