Plastering quote for kitchen

I’ve just received a quote of £1740.00 (£460.00 materials) for my kitchen. 2 guys for 2 days. Dot and dab 1 wall, skim all other walls and over board ceiling. Is this a reasonable quote as it seems quite high? I’ve taken all the cornices off since these photos were taken

Seems OK to me if they are really good plasterers, but if you are not happy get a few more quotes.

We paid £850 for 4 guys for 2 days to skim over our living room walls and ceiling which is 6.5m x 3.6 m. I'd done most of the prep work on the walls. They also boarded over the chimney breast and an alcove on one side as well. If that's with VAT, the VAT is nearly £300 of your bill. I'd get another quote anyway.

The only way to find out if it's a good price for your area is to get more quotes.

If their work is good, it's probably a reasonable price. It works out around £300 per day for each guy which is around normal these days.

The trades spend a lot of time travelling round to quote for work they'll never get so have to recoup that cost on the jobs they do get.

For that amount though, I'd want to see some of their work to know it's perfect.

There will be cheaper guys out there but you get what you pay for with plasterers.
