Problem with electric Velux window after < 2 years

Options
We had an electric Velux roof window fitted less than 2 years ago. Since last week it started making a clunking sound when we tried to open it (it sounded a bit like a clutch slipping on a motor), and it opens much more slowly. I've uploaded a video of the problem here:

When we bought the window it came with a 5 year warranty, so I contacted Velux support about it.

This was their reply:
"Due to the age of the window it will be time for some grease to be applied to the chain and hinges which helps keep the mechanisms in good working order. The grease that is applied to the components in the factory will have dried out during use and this is why the window is making a noise when being operated.

A thick silicon type grease from your local or online hardware store would do or you can purchase VELUX grease here - VELUX Spare Parts Shop - Maintenance Grease"

While applying grease sounds straightforward enough, the window is in a difficult-to-access location, in a recess between our staircase and the roof. We would not be comfortable conducting any sort of maintenance up there, so would need to pay someone to do this (assuming that this is in fact the problem).

I was wondering whether anyone else had experienced similar with a Velux electric roof window?

My electric velux made similar clunking noises as it opened, it wasn't slow to open, but it was clearly jamming then jumping as it opened (thud - thud - thud).  I was given the same advice, but wasn't pointed to any particular product.  Mine was accessible (if hairy - its high up above the staircase).   I applied WD40 Specialist Spray Grease to the hinges and chain.  After a few days of operation the noise stopped.

I have five other windows operated remotely, as well as another in a previous house, and they've not had this problem.  I suspect they probably just occasionally don't apply enough in the factory.

Are you able to make a contraption whereby you put the grease on an old toothbrush and attach that to an extending pole and reach the mechanism that way?

If not you can buy stair ladders, not sure if that would assist?

Could the mechanism be easier reached from the outside with the window open.
Could it be done at time of gutter clearing?
