You need them to ERASE your old data, it has a specific meaning where data is concerned.

OK so I got the Letter of Claim from Moorside a few weeks ago. I've been away and unablet o deal with it till today - the 30 days are up on 12th August 2026 - Wednesday next week.

As advised in the newbies thread I have emailed them the form letter re. the claim. However, I have had an email back by return saying their email address is not monitored and that I should go to their "portal" to contact them.

To access this portal I have to create an account, which I am uncomfortable doing.

Any further advice appreciated.

 You should revert to your client because the 'propensity to pay' score in my case is zero, so any claim is hopeless and a waste of the court fee (whether 'fronted' by your firm or not).

 The alleged 'debt' is disputed and any court proceedings will be vigorously defended.

It is fine to use the portal. No idea why people are uncomfortable about solicitor portals.

I guess I wondered if creating an account might be some sort of agreement to the debt.

Of course it doesn't. It's no different than emailing them.

To help us help you, please edit your thread title to something meaningful, like

Letter of Claim from Moorside / UKCPS 

Then when you get the Claim Form through, edit the thread title again to drop 'Letter of'.
