    Latest update from the Solicitor is that the property was sold "before the new legislation was brought in". And therefore CGT doesn't apply.

    Sale completed in Feb 2025 - hope they are right!

    Perhaps you should ask the solicitor to tell you exactly this "new legislation" is?

    The legislation for reporting capital gains tax on the disposal of UK residential property on or after 6 April 2020 is at Schedule 2 of the Finance Act 2019.
