Refund

Options
Hello.
I ordered 3 sets of blinds from an online company.
The blinds came with tapes rather than cord as ordered. Not a problem but 1 of the blinds came wrongly sized .
I got in touch the company to get this rectified and to also state that the blinds had been sent with tapes so the new blind must also be sent with tapes to match the rest.
A new blind got sent but came without tape.

I got In touch with the company again to state what had happened and to request a refund as this has been going on for over 3 months.

After a push a refund is being granted but as I originally got a 10% discount they are refunding me what I payed for the blind minus 10%

Is this correct?

Many thanks.

You should receive a refund equal to the sum you paid for that set of blinds.

If the blinds were selling at £100 and you paid £90 for them because of a discount, then they should be refunding you £90.

Are you saying that they're levying the 10% discount that you got for three sets of blinds onto the refund for the one set you're returning?  If that's the case, then we need to know the terms of the discount to determine if they're acting correctly or not.

Did you get the discount on the price of buying three or was an individual discount on each blind?

If it was on the price for 3, then the discount may no longer apply and you need to
Pay  full price for the 2 remaining blinds.

There was a 10% discount for new customers.
It wasn't a specific offer on buying 3 blinds. It was 10% off the subtotal.
I am keeping 2 of the blinds and returning 1 set

Then they should be refunding you the price that you paid for 1 set of blinds. I.e. the quoted price of 1 set minus the 10% discount you received for that 1 set of blinds.

If each blind was say £100 they should be refunding £90. If they are proposing to refund £70 (as 10% of 3 x£100 for the whole order is £30) I don't think that is correct.

Where you order multiple items together you can reject them all so could ask for the correct amount otherwise the whole lot will need going back a full refund, might change their tune.

Without knowing the actual price of each blind it's not possible to give an accurate answer to how much the OP should get back.  For example, if they are retaining two large blinds and returning a small on, the refund may be considerably lower.
Will the suggestion of rejecting the lot be an option as it's over 3 months since the original purchase.

From what OP has said the goods didn’t conform and the company have replaced yet the goods still don’t conform so OP can reject.

That would either be rejecting just the goods that don’t conform or everything under the same contract.

OP may prefer to keep the two that are fine and if there was a discount then the pro rata amount of the discount would not be refunded but that’s obvious so I can only assume the company want to levy the entire order discount against the refund which they can’t do (I would assume the three blinds are itemised as, well, that’s normal).

The mention of returning everything as a last resort might make the company see sense.
