Tomtom withdrew critical updates...

Following unsubscribing from TT emails, I received the following email...

You're now unsubscribed from our emails. This means you also won't receive any critical device updates.

Now I don't recall this condition being included in their tos, anyone else encountered this?

Yes I saw the notice when I unsubscribed from their emails last week. So I won't be notified of updates, no big deal. That doesn't remove my entitlement to them.

Nothing to stop you from occasionally logging in to
https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb
to see if there are any updates for your device.

ahhh it seems to be standard practice with TomTom. When you unsubscribe from emails, they stop notifying you about updates, but your device can still get them.

I've had the same experience. You can still check for updates manually on their website or by connecting your device. Your TomTom isn't actually blocked from updates - you just won't get emails about them.

Not the clearest communication on their part, for sure!
