    Does your partner get  LCWRA?
You will stay on UC if they do.
No need to amend anything UC do it all for you in the background.

They'll stay on UC regardless, they can't claim pension credit.

The only thing LCWRA will affect is how much UC they're entitled to, if any (although rent is presumably more than £355.55/month, below which there would be nil UC).

If you are caring for your partner over 35hrs/ week you could claim carers element.
When you reach SPA, please inform the council as the rules for council tax reduction are usually different when you are in receipt of state pension.
