S75 claim on purchase from 2020

Options
I bought an Eve mattress in 2020, which at the time came with a 10 year guarantee.  I've been struggling with the mattress for a while, so today, I removed the washable cover only to discover that there is a huge tear in the foam that extends through all the different layers till it gets to the box springs.  I don't really understand how it's failed, but anyway, emailed Eve and discover that the current company that sells them is not the same one that sold me mine.  When emailing the contact details I discover the company that I bought it from went into liquidation in 2022 and therefore the 10 guarantee I thought I had is now effectively null and void.  Great, not!

I bought my Eve mattress on Amex credit card, which I still have.  Despite the fact that it's now 5 years since I purchased it, do I have any rights under to make a claim from Amex using Section 75?

I still have my emails from when I purchased the mattress but of course, there isn't anything about their guarantee - I seem to recall it was all on their website, which is now gone, and replaced with a new website which has a subtlety different web address (was sleepeve.co.uk, now evesleep.co.uk).  I'm assuming that's likely to be an issue because I can't now vouch for the guarantee from the original company.

You will have to get a report to say this is not user damage & a inherent fault.

So yes, you can contact Amex about S75, but you may fail depending on the result of the fault.

Thanks - no idea how I arrange that report.  But thanks, I'll make a claim to Amex and see what they say.  I'm sure they'll do everything in their power to avoid paying out.

I've managed to find a website that archives old websites and from that found the webpage from the original company all about their 10 year guarantee so I guess that's one positive.
