Elvis Evolution

There is an 'immersive' event in London called Elvis Evolution that has been making press headlines for all the wrong reasons. The general consensus of opinion is that it is an expensive and appalling waste of money. I have two tickets for this at £75 each and like a lot of people want a refund. Unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable and can't be exchanged for a later date (as it's bound to close early). I've requested a refund and received a generic 'no' email. Is there anything I can do about this? It certainly isn't the AI once in a lifetime experience that was offered at the start.

In reality, best hope is it shuts before you go & that will give you some rights via chargeback. If you paid via card.

That's what I'm hoping. Unfortunately my tickets are for August 9th so I think it'll be still running then. I'd like to move the dates to December to give myself a better chance but I can't.

It depends when you bought your ticket asvI believe you have a window of 120 days for a chargeback. Tickets went on general sale from 25 Oct 2024 and the show was then postponed from Nov 2024 to July 2025 and so it's possible that you might already be out of time. Also, if you bought using a credit card, the £75 ticket price would be lower than the £100 or more requirement of Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and so that recourse wouldn't be available. You may have to end up using the small claims track in court.

It's the entertainment scandal of the year, reportedly on a par with the infamous Glasgow Willy Wonka scam. Thousands of people have been ripped off through misrepresentation and missold tickets with the producers having taken £5m in sales several months before the show opened. When is Martin Lewis going to immerse himself in this dodgy 'immersive experience' and start advising the people who have been taken for a ride on what they can do to get their money back?
