Hi all, I asked a couple of years ago about a holiday to the US and got a great response.

We are AI so hopefully not huge spends but would like to take £200 in cash and take a CC for extras and pay off in full when back. Just wondered if anyone has any recommendations? Thanks

I don't think that Egypt is anything special in this respect.

I think Barclaycard Rewards is the best for both cash and spendig.

I only used my credit card to settle anything charged to the room on hotel checkout. North African countries tend to be cash focused so I recommend either periodically changing newish GBP / EUR notes or use local ATMs rather than card usage - touristy locations excepted.

I actually made money on my last visit when I gave a local waiter the last of my Egyptian Pounds as a tip and he gave me over £15 in GBP (mainly Pound coins) that typically clueless English people had given for tips.
