Morning, thanks for starting Gers.
Geese! It's a change from bulls anyway.
It's fine here, yesterday was ok, warmish.
Not much on today. We did a bit if shopping yesterday, and a friend came round last night, so we had a good chat.
Thank you for your good wishes for my dh, it's much appreciated, so kind of everyone.
Hope everyone has good days, whatever you're doing, take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Blooming geese waking you up Grr!
No plans for this w/e but I'm hoping DS will come at some point to cut the front hedge as it's looking a right mess. I don't ask him, I just wait until he notices it! I wish I could do it myself but it's yet another job that's beyond me these days. The weather is undecided what it will do today but light rain is possible at some point. They keep saying that but it never happens.
Have a nice day if you can folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or poorly loved ones. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers, we get geese here, noisy little blighters.
Cloudy out, yesterday was another hot one, 26 degrees, today I think 21 is forecast, much more comfortable.
I did the shopping yesterday and only bought what was on my list, well done me, we have so much in stock I cant justify bringing more in. Chicken kievs last night and probably salmon with new potatoes and veg tonight.
AA, I watched the local news last night and it was about The Flying Scotsman. We saw it a few years ago when it came through a nearby town.
Sending hugs to those who need them, especially Ruby's mum, Scarlets DH, and Mehefin, you're all in my thoughts.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all
Apparently there’s some rain due - will believe that when I see it!Remmie - yep the Flying Scotsman looked great on TV yesterday. I had to take a detour coming back from my coffee outing as it was so busy around the station in Kidderminster. I’m pleased for them that the weather is good as they need the people and money.
Today might be hedge cutting and blackberry picking - is it me , or is it very early for them to be ready. Just shows the wild things can grow without needing to be watered, they’re perhaps not as big as usual but there’s plenty!Best wishes to all the poorlies. Have a good day

Strangely, I managed another half hour of sleep! The geese and bulls only seem to be at their noisiest at night, during the day it's so quiet here.I've been pulling stuff out of the top drawer of my bedside cabinet, put most of it back as I need to take a bag up to hold all the rubbish. I'm doing the same with the other drawers but get easily distracted / bored.Yesterday I drove back up to the big town for the remainder of my shopping. These days I'm always disappointed at not being able to get sprouts.
Then I diverted to get the scrumptious Portuguese tarts recommended by others here and took them the friends I visited on the way home. I resisted - sometimes I surprise myself.
More in hope than expectation I've put a wash on, perhaps it can go out on the line despite the greyness and forecast. My lovely Seasalt tin cloth rain jacket has a stain on it - no idea what from as it stays in the car - so I'm banking on it coming out in the wash. It'll need a reproofing wash afterwards unless the stain doesn't come out, then I have to formulate a plan B.There's some chicken breasts to poach, I prefer doing that rather than roasting but the white stuff coming off them is weird. The pan needs a hefty scrub afterwards. Emails need to written and a couple of phone calls are stacking up.I hope that there's better news for @Ruby's DM and @Taff's OH, and herself too. Sorry to hear that @Scarlet's OH has had to stop driving. xx Talk of the Flying Scotsman takes me back. My ex was (and still is) a steam train nut and I wouldn't be surprised if he was there spotting it.Hugs to all, and fingers crossed for no rain.12 -
Morning all, thanks for starting off the thread this morning @Gers. Glad to hear you squeezed in a bit more sleep after being rudely awoken by the geese!
Weather today - cloudy with light showers possible this morning and sunny intervals this afternoon, a light breeze, 21 deg.
After putting away my grocery delivery yesterday, I managed to speak to the Housing Manager rather than dashing off an email. He's getting the ball rolling on rectifying the incorrect DD payment for rent and issuing a refund for the over-payments. At teatime I had a catch up with DS on the phone, then settled down to watch TV - needless to say I nodded off!
Same old, same old today but I'm sure I'll find something to occupy myself with. I could do with making a new cover for my laptop as the old one is very worn and neither use nor ornament. Tea tonight is beef kebabs (I don't eat much red meat these days so that will be a treat) with lemon rice.
Hugs for those who need or want them, enjoy the weekend and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning all, it's a bit cloudy atm, yesterday turned out to be lovely in the afternoon. We had a quiet day at home & I did a spot of weeding at the back. On my morning walk yesterday a lady came onto the park with her dog and we had a good chat, I used to see her passing everyday to say hello to but never had a good chat, turns out she minds her friends dogs if they are away, I always thought she was a dogwalker. A ne ighbour stopped me too, to see if we'd noticed a van throwing garden waste away. Her garden is next to a public footpath with steps down to the river and a lot of conifer and tree cuttings have been chucked over both sides & some has landed in hers. She thinks it probably is someone wanting to avoid paying at the tip if they're a business. I hadn't noticed anything though.TA I noticed our privet hedge had sprouted- doesn't seem 2 mins since DH did it. We have blackberries across the road but I don't think many are ripe yet.Not sure what we'll eat tonight, I'll have to check the freezer for something. Many hugs to anyone coping with illness etc.Right better get the little pooch out for his morning walk - I've got out of practise with long dog walks in recent years with Lyladog being an old lady bless her, she only had 1 walk early morning but Lenny needs 2 good walks as he has plenty of energy
Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning 😊
Feeling weekend vibes.
We were up and out the door at four-thirty this morning for a gentle stroll. It was so peaceful, and although there was light rain throughout, it’s still warm. We were back by six-thirty, and I went back to bed for a little bit. Since then, I’ve mostly picked up and put away. I’m making both a chicken curry, and vegetable curry for tonight, so they are both in the slow cookers. Home made naan, and coconut rice will be done later.
This afternoon, we have free tickets for a jazz event, so we’re off to that at two o’clock. It should be good.
We are always having people dumping rubbish on our street @RosyRed. I don’t know if it’s because it’s a main road, and people drive along then dump, or if it’s local residents, but there doesn’t seem to be much pride in the area we live in, anymore.
Hope you all have a good day 😊13
