  • Had a similar recent challenge where after a protracted away from my home and access to my UK mail, I found month's old demand letters from Horizon Parking and subsequent Empira debt collecting agency letters threatening legal proceedings for non-payment of a £0.50 parking fee that had escalated 300x to a potential £150 plus a possible CCJ etc... All for a genuine mistake on a dark, very rainy winter's night dash into the Asda store to buy a sandwich at Prince's Mead and not spotting signs saying you needed to pay for parking at this superstore!

In all honesty, I had wrongly assumed that these large supermarkets / complexes want customers and are more than happy to provide free parking while you shop at their stores!? Surely this is not an unreasonable expectation but I guess UK has changed so much in recent times that one can not assume anything and we all have to have eyes on everything so as not to be "caught-out" by systems designed to generate revenue by as many means as possible!

Fortunately, using the advice in the above thread and not immediately going into panic mode, using the approach highlighted, contacting Prince's Mead Management by email before over reacting came up trumps and they cancelled the Horizon / Empira actions within 2 days. :-)

Thank you Prince's Mead Management for your understanding, MSE and most importantly, "Nellymoser" for your original posting and instructions.

Please could you also post the same in SUCCESSFUL COMPLAINTS ABOUT PPCs where lots more motorists will see this?
