Morning all,
Gers, many thanks for your advice the other day about shredding companies, I will definitely look into it as there is too much here to shred manually.
I wasn’t up to posting yesterday as I had a bad fatigue day, not feeling too bad at the moment, managed to get up and wash my hair before 7am! Must remember to pace myself though.
Plans for today are to potter around the home, I do need to meal plan and freeze meat and bread accordingly. Apart from this it is the usual vacuuming as I am shedding my hair at the moment.Take care all.

Good morning
A bright sunny start, yesterday was a dull dismal day. Oh well, at least we're getting a variety of weather.
I did a post yesterday which I promptly lost, and though I'd try again later, but that didn't happen. Anyway, long story short, usual chores were done and we had a beef stew for dinner.
This morning I'm off out shopping. I need to get petrol so will combine the two. I dont think there's much we need, but I'm sure extra will fall into the trolley.
Ruby, hope mum is feeling better.
Sorry if I've forgotten anyone, my memory isnt what it used to be.
Have a good day all, take care.14 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's a nice morning here, sunny.
Good to see you back Peony, strange, I was just wondering about you the other day.
We went out on a bus ride yesterday to South Shields! So did loads of other people, the bus was quite crowded with families out for a bucket and spade day on the beach. We didn't dig on the beach though! just strolled about and had some food. It was a change anyway, and it was hot, and stayed fine.
Dh has had to surrender his driving licence because of new symptoms - he has more investigations coming up in the next two weeks. It's extremely worrying, but we must find out what's going on and hope whatever it is can be treated.
We are hoping to have a few days away in the early autumn to York or somewhere like that where there's plenty going on. We will just wait and see what happens.
I'm nipping out this morning to buy some sewing cotton, I'm taking a pair of trousers up and don't have quite the right colour cotton in my box so there's that to do, also a small bag for the cs.
Hope everyone else is all right and has a good day. Thoughts to the people who aren't well. Take care folks.

Morning again - the day is grey and damp. Not the worse.@Peony - the shredding is so worth the cost. Hope you can find a company.@Remmie - sometimes my memory is shocking too. Think it's part of our ageing process.Yesterday was a rather dull and uninteresting day, nothing to report. Today will be a better day.I hope that all Mums and Dads and grandchildren and friends are doing well. Hugs to all.13

Hi all
It appears that we are in for another hot day in the high 20s. The garden will never get dug or weeded at this rate.
Popping out for coffee at a garden centre, other than that will be hibernating for the next few days. The local heritage steam railway is reopening the full line after a landslide and repairs, and has the Flying Scotsman on the line for a few days - everywhere is going to be so busy. I’m pleased for the local businesses that the weather forecast is good but don’t want to be caught up in crowds or traffic!Hope everyone enjoys the end of their week

Morning folks and thanks GERS for the start. It's fine here and forecast to remain so - or so they tell us! With our weather these days you haven't to be surprised at what you get!
Well I picked my new specs up yesterday and I am off back with them today! Various problems to sort out. Distance is fine but reading is not. So I am still zooming to read and type. And I am not happy with the fit of them either. I think if they sort that out it will improve close work too.
It's supposed to be the Friday Tidy but I'm not in the right frame of mind for that so it might be postponed until tomorrow. Unless I perk up as the day goes on. Another rubbish sleepless night hasn't helped my mood either. Where's Mr Sandman when you need him?
Have a good day if you can folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need. SCARLET especially. I remember well what it's like waiting for all the procedures and results for your loved one and then fearing the worst. RUBY I hope DM is improving and anyone else coping with illness. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning everyone what a lovely afternoon I had yesterday there were eight of us 3 girls I had never met before the cafe is in the hospice the coffee and cake was lovely all ran by volunteers then we went out and had a walk around the gardens wow absolutely beautiful there was a Japanese garden a garden just brought up and donated from the Chelsea flower show that looked right across the peaceful countryside and you could watch the trains coming to and from Durham station allotments growing fruit and veg and big greenhouse there was even a fairy garden and lots of little places to sit quietly and just relax lots of plants and veg for sale I bought some tomatoes and accidentally payed for a couple of plants whoops we all bought something and it is all ran by volunteers and I’m sure with all that land they can never have enough of what a beautiful peaceful haven and next year I will definitely be buying something more plants from there and I will be spreading the word . It’s very warm today it’s my volunteering day so I’m off to the food waste soon then up to the hospice charity shop . Talking about memory I used to pride myself on how good mine was not anymore they say pride comes before a fall I put a half a dozen eggs on to boil the other day then I just nipped upstairs to put some ironing away next thing I knew eggs were boiled dry and the kitchen was full of smoke I still wouldn’t blame my memory I blamed having to many jobs on the go at once I can’t juggle like I used to . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing13

Morning all! Sunny and dry so far. A friend is coming over for a chat later, we might get round to booking our flights to Germany [ we're off to see a friend in October]. I made courgette fritters again, they seem to be a staple recently and at last I have perfected the recipe, so they are for lunch with some chilli jam I knocked up last week, just one jar to use up stuff. OHs friend came round last night and moved the tiles, woop, so I can take out the fireplace cupboard later on and the skirting boards. The dado rail is off. Tip run booked for next Friday so that's me booked all week for garden, allotment, and rubbish removal
OH is still in pain, not shouting so much though so looks like it's definitely easing now. In other news, i found a Rolo from about 2010 lst night [ don't ask] and I swear it is twice the size they are now. I'll have to buy a pack to compare.
Allie, congrats on safe wasp removal. Peony, I'm sorry but that did make me laugh, Imagined a large Afghan hound sitting typing and shaking it's mane with bits flyng off everywhere [ it's very early for me!] Scarlet, fingers crossed for your DH. Izzy, that sounds lovely. Although, when they talk about gardens going to hospitals on the Chelsea shows, I always thought it was going somewhere that didn't already have somewhere like that. It does sound lovely though with all those strings to their bow. Our local hospice is struggling at the moment and they do such a good job. Ruby, fingers crossed for new tablets. I had to stop taking it in January, it got to the satge that it was taking me half an hour to get out of bed because I couldn't get my back to work, all the muscles had just seized up. Hope your mum i much better now. Gers, here's to a great day for you! Take care all, have fun!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12 -
Morning all, thanks @Gers for today's start. After a dull but dry day yesterday, we're set to have sunny intervals with a light breeze, no rain and temperatures up to 23 deg today.
I gave the bathroom a top to bottom deep clean yesterday and disturbed a large spider that must have been hiding somewhere. Now, I know these critters have their place in our eco system but it's not in my house! It was swiftly evicted. I watched the final episode of Outrageous last night and was hoping there would be a second series but apparently it's not been decided yet.
Today's grocery delivery is due sometime between 11 am and noon, four subs this time, one of which will be going back. It's mainly fresh fridge stuff, a few pantry items and not much for the freezer. Once that's been put away I'll resume attacking the weeds between the patio paving slabs - I swear they're growing quicker than I can eliminate them! I'm still waiting on a return phone call from the Housing Manager and I'm beginning to wonder if my message did get passed on as he's normally very good at returning calls. If I don't hear anything today I'll send him an email. Tea tonight is a lightly dusted lemon & pepper fish fillet, strawberries for afters.
@Scarlet - So sorry to hear DH has had to relinquish his driving licence, my best wishes to you both.
@TA - Very disappointed to hear your new specs aren't quite right, fingers crossed it will be a simple fix.
@Izzy - The hospice gardens sound delightful, glad you enjoyed your afternoon outing.
@-taff - Pleased to hear DH seems to be improving. I was never a fan of Rolos but I'm sure you're right about them being smaller, isn't all confectionery these days?
Right, duty calls. Have a good end of week day, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Morning allNice and sunny here.Izzy sounded like a lovely day you had yesterdayScarlet sorry to hear your DH had to relinquish his driving licenceTA what a shame about the specs, you'd been so looking forward to getting them. Hope it's resolved quicklyGot my rings back and the fit perfectly now, no struggling to get them on and off.DH is just clearing out his car and collecting his, to him, new one. It's got a few more gadgets than his old one so he'll be playing and swearing at it when it's not playing ball for the rest of the day!Me, I'll be sitting in the garden now the weather's better this afternoon with my book. 92% in and I think I've solved whodunnit. We shall see if I'm right later :-)Have a good day all x10
