Switching - are you locked in?

Hi all, I am sure this is covered on here but little time to trawl through - do forgive me.

I ought to switch, however with possible increases pending, or at least rumoured I wondered if I switch now and my new provider has a larger than average increase can I switch again at anytime?

Can you tell me if new deals usually lock you in for a period of time or) does it vary from one supplier to another or) are there usually no lock in times?

Thanks

For the vast majority of cases, you can swithch every 28 days if everything runs smoothly, but as Terry has said else where - the more you switch the more chances there are for things to go wrong.
There are some longer contracts around (mostly for businesses), so double check when you sign up.
