Travel Insurance - Undiagnosed condition

Hi,
We are going abroad and want to sort travel insurance.
Normally we get this as a couple and use one of the specialists as we both have health conditions.
However, this year my partner is currently awaiting confirmation of a newly diagnosed condition (it takes many months of tests to confirm) and we cannot find any insurer that will cover you when you have an un-confirmed diagnosis.
So my question is, to have at least some cover, can I get a single person cover for just myself?
Having had run-ins with insurance companies in the past and knowing just how much they love to find a reason not to pay out, I'm concerned if I have a single person cover but am in fact travelling as a couple, this would invalidate any policy I buy
thanks in advance!

If you are travelling on a single policy, it’s unlikely to cover you if you cancel/make a claim for something related to your partner. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
yep, understood, and would not attempt to claim for anything other than things that affect me onlyelsien said:If you are travelling on a single policy, it’s unlikely to cover you if you cancel/make a claim for something related to your partner.
my question is mainly, if for example something happened to me that caused us to cancel the holiday, something covered by the policy, would I be able to claim back my half of the holiday or would they say no, it was 2 tickets booked and we won't pay half back0 -
It would if unrelated to re-existing conditions.elsien said:If you are travelling on a single policy, it’s unlikely to cover you if you cancel/make a claim for something related to your partner.
There is a small number of insurers that simply dont insure any pre-existing conditions, you may consider buying that for partner so you still have cover for non-health related issues and any accident they may have abroad.Shevek said:So my question is, to have at least some cover, can I get a single person cover for just myself?1 -
Not an insurance expert but yes you will be covered ,imagine you had travelled on your own ,the cover will be in place ,what you can not claim on is anything relating to your partner.Shevek said:Hi,
