Amazon 1-click disappeared from screen

Has anyone had this problem - the option to turn on and off 1-click has disappeared from my payments screen and I am unable to switch it off (meaning my default card is saved and all purchases can be made without entering a cvv number) - I've had a long and frustrating chat with online help who were equally baffled and couldn't solve the problem short of removing my card entirely which messes up paying for prime. All Amazon help pages point to options that don't exist. Not sure who to raise this with further and wondering if it's a common or current probllem?
