Morning again, it's sunny here, hope it continues. It rained a bit yesterday.
I didn't get into the garden yesterday because of the rain, and we didn't go out, well, I went out for a bit of shopping, in our High street.
We're going out for a bus ride today though, probably to South Shields.
Sorry to read that you aren't well Mehefin, and Ruby, hope your Mum is feeling better.
Also sorry to read that your friend's husband has been diagnosed with early dementia TA.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.13 -
Hi all
Thanks for the start Scarlet.Another day that went by in a blur yesterday - the most exciting bit being snagging some free wood at B&Q from their offcuts bin. Usually there’s a random piece of chipboard and that’s it, yesterday loads of lengths of just what I needed. Thrilled and did make a donation to their charity. It doesn’t take much to excite me 😂
The wasp nest treatment seems to have worked already - good to know that neighbour has the equipment to deal with it , much cheaper (a bottle of wine no doubt!) than calling the professionals and seems to have had the same effect.Hope everyone has a good day

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I had a much better sleep last night thank goodness. I think a combination of fresh air, ambling slowly, chatting and a wine or 3 tired me out. A lovely day and no rain until it started drizzling once I was home. A grand day out!
Today (unless a cancellation happens!) I am meeting DF for lunch. We'll see how a change of day goes. It was quieter last Thursday compared to our usual Tuesdays. I got a text whilst out yesterday telling me my new specs were ready so I will go down town a little bit earlier to collect those. Fingers crossed they make a world of difference and my assortment of old specs can finally be disposed of..
Not a lot will get done today but I must at least give the kitchen and bathroom a once over before I go out. And it's another day of no cooking to do!
That sounds like a nice way to spend an afternoon IZZY and it's nice to know how you volunteers are all appreciated. DEREK (Mehefin) It's easy for me to say but try not to worry about the forthcoming procedure. It might just rule a possible problem out. RUBY I hope your DM is improving after a few days on the IV a/bs. ROSY it sounds like Lenny is settling in nicely. Take care all, stay safe and ((HUGS)) for anyone who needs them. xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, enjoy your bus ride.
I'm up early this morning to take the little one to the Isle of Cumbrae (otherwise known locally as Millport). We have about an hours drive then the ferry, we can have a day at the beach and do a little bit of rockpooling hopefully. The picnic is all made - the only downside is that I forgot I had a hair appointment this morning, I'm sure it can be re-arranged.
The grass was cut yesterday so it looks tidier out the back, also picked lots of beans and peas from the allotment and of course 4 more courgettes but they have found a home already. Taff - the broad bean stalks were in my friend's garden - they have enough to compost at the allotment at the moment.
Washing all up to date - even did the ironing last night.
Sorry to hear your test results weren't all clear Mehefin, well done for going to see about it.
Hope your DMum is feeling better Ruby.
Good haul at the DIY shed Allie.
Enjoy your treat this afternoon Izzy, nice to be appreciated.
Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX14 -
Morning all - thanks @Scarlet for starting us off. It's a very hazy warm day, the sea is covered in a combination of low cloud and fret.My cleaner was more than happy to take my unwanted rug from upstairs. His young daughter has had her bedroom decorated so the rug would go well. I was pleased that he could use it. New rug down now so happiness all round.I went up to the big town yesterday for shopping though forgot some things. I put this down to the most ridiculous set of roadworks I've ever come across. One bloke with a stop / go pole (no walkie-talkie) holding up the traffic then leading it slowly behind the three huge machines which were stripping the road. Cars coming down the other way without any gaps. Twenty minutes of this nonsense and the lorry driver in front took the hump, remonstrated loudly whilst in his cab. At that someone else appeared with a walkie-talkie, communicated with the person at the other end who then stopped the traffic. It's was a fairly long drive to the other end. Such stupidity! That took my mind off my mental shopping list, now I need vegetables. M&S had loads of YS stuff, got strawberries, raspberries etc.Much time was spent looking for a footstool, none took my fancy except and Ikea one which needs assembly so I disregarded it. Will look at it again. The plants I ordered have arrived with my friend in Glasgow so we've arranged for me to go down on Monday as I have an appointment there on Tuesday.I hope that all our poorlies and those with poorlie family members are doing better today. Enjoy Millport @Camelot, little one will love it. Hugs to all.12

Morning all
Dry here for now and the sun is due out later, I am off to meet with my new lad and his mum ( she wants to come with him for a while to make sure he is settled, we are off to the seafront for a ride on the train and a walk / coffee.
I went to my appointment yesterday and they have decided I can come off of tamoxifen 😳 which is good news but also a bit daunting and it kind of feels like a safety net, they have given me another drug to take for two years which has less side effects but one of them is aching joints, the Dr said to try it and if I don’t get on well with it I can swap back so we will see how it goes.
I then went to visit mum who did not look well, she was sat in a chair and her foot was purple, I called the nurse over and she said she would get the Dr back to have a look, she then had some lunch and I changed her pyjamas, they then gave her another bag of antibiotics and I got her back into bed as she was tired, my sister went last night and she was in a ward and much more comfortable and the foot was back to a normal colour, we are hoping they keep her in for a good few days yet.
Dinner tonight will be chicken Kiev and chips, I found some GF kievs so OH will be pleased. DD is off today so she will cook. I have put a wash on this morning which can be hung out once done.
Camelot and Izzy enjoy your days out xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -

Good morning 😊
Sorry to hear your mum isn’t doing well still, @RedRuby1231 but, thankfully the colour in her foot has returned to normal. It must be a worrying time for you.
We had to tackle a wasps nest once, @AlwaysAllie It was in the shed, and had grown quite large by the time we noticed it. That wasn’t fun, but the spray foam did the trick.
Enjoy your day at the beach @camelot1001
I have had a busy morning, so far. The duvets from yesterday are washed and on the line, and the covers from the sofa are in the wash now. I’ve made up a bowl of couscous salad for lunches, and some raw protein bars, with the recipe kindly provided by another user over on the ‘Using what you have from your freezer, cupboard, or shed’ thread. I have tweaked the recipe a bit, so it will be interesting to see how it works out.
Tonight, we are having chilli con carne, so both a meat and vegan version have gone into the slow cookers. I will cook the rice later, and there are also taco shells which need using up. I will have to pop them in the oven for a few minutes to crisp up again, as they were opened a while ago.
I am going to visit one of my neighbours shortly. We enjoy a good natter on a Thursday. Then, later, I am going to a new afternoon social club at the local library. It might be a bit awkward, but they plan on having activities each week, as well as providing tea and coffee. I don’t know if it’s my thing, but we will see. On the upside, I can at least grab a couple of books to read, so it won’t be a total loss.
Hope you all enjoy your day 😊11 -
Morning all from sunny Mehefinland
Well after my little wobble yesterday( that sort of news hits you for six initially) I am bouncing back and being positive. My problem can be one of many things but human nature always looks at the worst case scenario.
Spend a convivial afternoon with my friends planning the get together for next week. Both of them are ex caterers and have taken over the nibble side between them even though I said not to. I will have to keep them well supplied with gin!! It's nice that they feel they want to help - and I do appreciate it despite my protestations
had a little tipple of 'Sheepdog' whilst there -- its a peanut butter flavoured whiskey. An odd taste but very palatable if a little too sweet for me
Need to give the house a good bottoming before Friday week, not that it's dirty, but it's surprising what comes to light when you start moving furniture about. Just hope the weather stays fair.
Lots to do-so will crack on. Hugs and spoons as always and a heartfelt thankyou for all your virtual support
