Overstayed parking

Hello,
I recently received a parking charge for overstaying at a local Hoizon run car park. Unfortunately i got the period wrong and overstayed well past the allowed grace period. Due to various reasons the 14 days period has now lapsed so i am looking at the full £70.
I have previously fought these charges, however I have always felt justified in doing so. In this instance because I overstayed I can't see a justifyable excuse to appeal and then go on to fight the charge.
I would like to ask if I were to fight it and let it go to debt collection and then potentially solicitors whether I would still havea good chance in court? Or am I better to just pay the £70 now?
Many thanks,

Do not pay
Check the pcn against the examples by coupon mad in announcements, in the newbies sticky thread, first post
See if it complies with the law named POFA 2012, or not, and report back
But ideally, follow plan A, complain to the landowner or landlord or business, trying to get it cancelled ASAP4 -

So plan A, complain about it to Tesco, either the manager at the store, with proof of patronage, or to Tesco head office, direct4
