Parking ticket appeal

I've been following the advice on this site for several months, following a £170 parking charge from DCB Legal. I submitted my aos three weeks ago, and am now working on my defence (due Monday, 28/7/25).
These are my personal defence paragraphs, with identifying details redacted. I've kept it as short as I can, while trying to include all relevant details, but I'm not sure if the second paragraph is necessary. I think it demonstrates the company's unwillingness to deal with this in good faith, but any feedback/critique would be welcomed!
3. On the date in question, the Defendant paid for parking on arrival at the **** Car Park using the **** app, as he had on every other occasion when using the car park, without issue. He believed at the time that he had paid in full for his parking session, but has subsequently come to understand that he should have paid on departure. This was not made obvious on the app or on-site signage. Having used this same car park multiple times in the past, the Defendant believes that the parking protocol must have been changed at some point (from pay on arrival to pay on departure), but without adequate notices to advertise this fact.
4. Upon learning that he was being pursued for a £170 penalty charge (belatedly, due to personal circumstances including illness in the family), the Defendant immediately contacted **** Ltd to explain the error and ask for leniency, given that this was a simple and honest mistake. Having received no response after a week, he tried to contact them again via a webform, and received a one-line reply stating he should liaise with ‘debt’ (DCB Legal). The next time the Defendant tried to use the webform, he discovered that he had been blocked from accessing the website (having been nothing but polite in his own correspondence). The conclusion the Defendant draws, from this, is that **** Ltd is not acting in good faith, and merely wants to extract as much money as possible from this claim, regardless of its merits.
Huge thanks to all the contributors to this site - especially those who have devoted so much of their personal time and expertise to helping others fight these unjust charges.

Come back in August to take part. We need to drown out the twisted 'alternative facts' from the parking industry and their relatives posing as ordinary motorist consumers.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
