Help with Cheque

Hi all, my daughter recently turned 18 and had a Child trust Fund with natwest, she provided her bank account details but they still sent her a cheque. 

she has a lloyds account and tried to pay the cheque in online but the app just shows Unpaid Cheque 

Then we took it into branch and tried the ATM, it said it could not process cheque, i took it to the bank clerk and she said it was probably the size of the cheque. we paid it in and she said 2 working days and it will clear, she has just checked the App again and it says Unpaid Cheque again! 

Any idea why? and who do i contact now, i dont have the cheque any more only the receipt
