I can assure you, the vouchers handed out on the aircraft (the one I posted) are not tied to specific people and can be used by anyone. 

Presumably you tried using the unique coded one I posted for Joseph80.  Did you use it in the holiday booking flow -
 

or did you try to add it to your account? - 



The former would work, the latter would not.

I have no desire to get into debate or arguement with you.  I provided the voucher code in good faith to the OP and can assure you that it could be used by anyone holding the voucher providing the voucher terms were met.

Getting back on topic ( ) if anyone is interested, the price last night for the package (when I booked) was exactly the same as this morning once the flights were released. So now we know!

However, I now need to cancel but have to wait until 24 hours after I booked. My daughter's school has decided to change the date of their prom and apparently 'there is no way she is missing it' so I need to rebook for different dates now anyway (and those dates are more expensive)!

Why do you need to wait 24 hours- the cooling off for easyjet is (I thought) up to 24 hours.

I wasn't cancelling a flight. I was cancelling an Easyjet Holiday package. The moment it hit 24 hours I was able to click on cancel. The deposit I had paid (£60/person) was immediately credited to my Easyjet account and I was able to apply it to my replacement package holiday booking.
