    That’s excellent news for you.

    I currently have a case with Smart Parking x DCB. The mediation call was last Friday. They initially offered a settlement of £256, which I rejected, arguing that “the defendant never appealed the PCN.” After I refused, they reduced the offer to £120 and proposed three monthly instalments.

    I’m now waiting for the case to be allocated and to see their witness statement. Their evidence consists of a non-compliant NTK, ANPR images showing the car entering and leaving within 11 minutes, and a 2019 Google Earth image showing the layout of the site.

    The PCN was issued in 2021 for a pub car park that had closed and been boarded up in 2019. It is now a development site (the contractor went bust), and Smart Parking has since removed all signage and the payment machine.
