Judgement was issued against me. Is there anything I can do

Options
Hello, I went into the MCOL portal to submit my defence  only to realise that I have a judgment against me for a gym car park via DCB Legal. I’m not sure if anything can be done at this stage to dispute it as I really don’t want to have a ccj on my file. Any advice ?

When is the date of the judgement and do you know why you weren’t aware of it?  Old address etc?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Is the CCJ for the claim your were about to submit your defence for?

Did you do the AOS? If yes does it show as being received in your MCOL History?

Hello, thanks for your reply. I submitted my AOS which was acknowledged however, I assumed I had a longer time to submit a defence which is my error unfortunately. Judgment was set against me on 8th July

Sorry, you need to pay them this month to avoid a CCJ.

Email them for their bank details.

Yes, they received the AOS and judgment was for the case I was to submit my defence. Unfortunately I think I over estimated the time I had to submit it.

Nope. Pay DCB Legal on the portal.

Thanks I will do it. Since judgment has been entered against me on 8th July will it remain permanently? I logged onto my internet banking and it says my credit score has gone down by 117 due to a ccj. I thought if you pay within 30 days it doesn’t affect your credit score

Also on the MCOL portal there is no payment option. It says: A Judgment has been entered against you. You cannot respond to the claim at this time but you may apply for the judgment to be set aside.

You were told to pay on the DCB Legal portal,  the only thing to do on MCOL is copy and paste your claim history below

Payment is usually required within 28 days of the Judgment,  if full, to expunge the judgment to avoid a CCJ being logged on to the register

No it won't remain on your record 'permanently' (6 years) .... as long as you pay the judgment within the timescale shown on the court order (usually 1 month).  Once paid within the deadline, the CCJ is expunged from your record as if it had never happened.
