Morning folks and thanks GERS. I am not gloating as I know it's not going to last, but we have sunshine this morning! More rain forecast for later and they are still telling us we will have thunderstorms but, as yet, they haven't happened. But we did get very heavy rain last night just as I was going to bed and it was clattering against the window.
I have some light washing on the go but that can go over the airer as I'm not pushing my luck pegging it outside. Dashing outside to retrieve it is not an option these days. My dashing days are long gone!
DD and youngest are off to the caravan today for a few days. Not the best of weather is forecast for them but it's a break and there will be no watering of all the pots to do this time! They have been warned not to stand on the tippy uppy paving slab that threw me down the embankment when I was there!
I have just sent a shirty e-message to the surgery. Logged on over the w/e to request my shipping order to be met with a message saying I needed to speak to a clinician before they could requested.. No advance warning of this and I will run out of a couple of items by next w/e. It's pointless trying to ring them as nobody answers the phone. Everything has to be dealt by an e-message to the endless options available. Grr.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. RUBY I hope your DM is soon sorted out and on the road to recovery. Take care one and all and stay safe x

Good morning 😊
Mondays come around so quickly. Today will be the usual house chores, along with a sort / stock-take of the small food cupboard, where most of the tinned goods are kept. I am also making smoky Spanish rice - one with chicken, and one with chickpeas, for later.
This afternoon, I have an Asda delivery booked. Mostly basics, as I have all evening meals planned. Work lunches seem to be what we run short on.
I have been stress-eating the last few months, so I need to focus my mind on my diet for a bit before it becomes an issue, and set today as a start. Tell me, why did I wake up with raging hunger pangs? I don’t even usually eat breakfast 🤣
@RedRuby1231 fingers crossed all goes well for your mum, and it is cellulitis rather than a blood clot.
I have been thinking about cancelling our Sky subscription service @Chrisca50 They don’t want to budge on offering a better deal.
Hope you all have a good day 😊10 -
Morning all, enjoy your exercise class @Gers.Pretty dull but meant to brighten up on and off.@RedRuby1231 , best wishes for your DM, hope she's ok. Our new doggy (lenny) is a pocket bulldog. He's about 1/3rd of the size of our lovely Lyladog which is taking a while to get used to
He's been so good settling in. DS2 came over again with DGS and DGD so she could meet him yesterday afternoon. He's so friendly with everyone he meets, and I ended up taking him out with them down the river path, and he jumped right in the water, he loved it. He also walked beautifully home from the park with NDNeighbours dog, something we could not do before as NDN dog was scared of big dogs. Thanks all for the new dog wishes. He's 3 & seems well trained.
Trying to get our new routine going still.Need to get something out of the freezer for tea, yesterday was pesto chicken. It feels a bit cooler today.Have a good day everyone:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12 -
@DP1 - enjoy Belfast. I'm going there in September and a friend has just come back from the golf. Seems a popular place.@Taff - these particular ABs - flucloxacillin - have to be taken on an empty stomach, either one hour before food or two hours after. A hot drink of water helps as it softens the capsule but the problem is in my throat, sometimes it gets stuck and then I cough it up in a semi-retch. I'm just glad that the course is now finished. Sorry to read that your OH is still in pain, damaged ribs are awful as every small movement becomes agony. I hope that he heals soon.

Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers. It was another miserable day yesterday weather-wise - light drizzle, heavy drizzle, one prolonged downpour of heavy rain at teatime, one clap of thunder in the afternoon and the wet stuff didn't stop until early evening.
Today is set to be a mixture of sunshine and showers, some of which could be heavy, easing by late evening.
Yesterday was quiet and slothful although I did manage a washload of tea towels and dishcloths, not hung outside, obviously. The new TV drama I was looking forward to was rather disappointing - a present day/past day storyline (not confusing but gloomy) with terrible audio - so I'm not inclined to bother with the rest of the series.
Nothing exciting planned for today, just the usual daily tasks, although I'll pop out soon while the sun is shining for some fruit. I'm down to a few grapes and one apple. Tea tonight is a salad.
@Ruby - Best wishes to you and your DM for today's scan and sourcing the ABs too.
@-taff - So sorry to hear your DH has a cracked rib and you've been diagnosed with COPD. Take care and don't be overdoing it!
@TA - What an annoying situation! I doubt your e-message will make any difference but at least it gives you chance to vent your frustration. Good luck.
@Rosy - Lenny sounds like a lovely addition to the family.
Right, must dash before the sun disappears. Have a good day and take care. Hugs at the ready for anyone needing or wanting one. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Follow up to my rant! Shortly after sending my message I received a text from the surgery telling me I needed to speak to their pharmacist for a review of my meds before they could be requested. Yes I had already found that out! It would have made more sense if this message had come to me over a week ago as the first available telephone appointment with him is next Monday by when when I will have already run out of one of my BP meds. Double grrr! X"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9

@TA - Oh dear, that's not helpful at all. I can see the scenario now - you'll run out of meds, have the review, get the new script and then be running around like a headless chicken trying to get it filled. And that's if it's in stock!
All for the lack of good communication. Commiserations. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8
