Morning all
Dry here for now but rain due later and for most of the day with storms / lightning.
I took mum to the hospital yesterday and saw a Dr there who thought it was cellulitis but that she needed a scan to confirm it is not a clot she upped her antibiotics to double the dose and gave her a blood thinner as a precaution, I have to take her back this morning for her to have a scan, she gave us a prescription for the extra tablets and we tried three different pharmacies all of them were closed due to unforeseen circumstances 🙄 so I need to get them done today as well, hopefully we won’t be too long at the hospital 🤞 thanks for all the good wishes xx
Dinner tonight will be summer in winter chicken a nice quick meal, dd is off today so she will probably cook. No washing today as the airer is full and it can’t be hung out because of the rain, it can wait till tomorrow.
Have good days all and take care xx14 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
Not a bad morning here, grey but not raining.
Yesterday we had some rain but not as much as we expected , no thunderstorm. We were tidying up outside because we had some work done on the roof on Friday and there was some small bits of old concrete lying around between the planters.
Not much going on today, I'm visiting my old friend up the road, and I need to go to the bank.
That's about it really.
Hope everyone is ok and has a good day. Take care folks.13 -
Morning allSkies are black here and it's been raining hard and it's expected to be like that for most of the dayHope your mum will be on the mend after she starts her antibiotics RubyRang Sky looking for a deal as payments are just going up and up. I've been with them for 25 years and normally get a reasonable deal with them and this is the first time they wouldn't budge. Not impressed. Seriously thinking of going elsewhere. Anyone got EE TV as their deal looks too good to be true but am considering,Apart from that nothing on the cards today and can't go out into the quagmire of a garden! Might have a sort out of a couple of cupboards in the spare room. That'll keep me amused.Have a good day all x13

Hi all
Thanks for the start Gers.We had rain in and off, plus thunder yesterday - rain was heavy at times but never for very long so managed to get some jobs done in between.I did quite a bit of craft stuff too and will continue with that as today is the only full day I have at home this week. Have been waking very early and not going to bed any earlier so feeling generally quite tired but nothing strenuous to do.Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.Have a good week

Morning again - damp here with a forecast of 'mild' thunderstorms.I ended up doing a fruit shop yesterday, I really wanted more peaches / nectarines. Ended up with cherries, strawberries and a really juicy melon too. Later on I chopped up the melon and then took away the rinds as they do stink out the kitchen. Nothing much of consequence happened. This morning it's back to the exercise class, the leader has been away for three weeks so no doubt it'll be a bit tough. There's chicken mayo for lunch and Bookish to catch up with.I hope that all is well with your DM @Ruby. Hugs to all - have a good day everyone.14

Morning everyone Ruby I hope your mum gets sorted today what a worry for both of you and a lot of running around. We had a few heavy showers yesterday but it’s supposed to stay dry today and it’s warm . I’m off to meet my friend soon for a coffee and a catch up but otherwise not a lot going on . I might come back and sort some paperwork out and a couple of drawers I seem as if I’ve got a bit to much stuffed in drawers and some old enough to be thrown away . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing14

Good morning
Dull and cloudy out, but dry. Yesterday evening it came over as dark as night, then the thunder started and torrential rain. It lasted about 20 minutes, stopped but then came back, louder than ever. Strangely enough, BD was not bothered by the thunder, but didnt like going out in the rain, although he didnt go out until the thunder had passed but it was still drizzling.
The roast chicken from the weekend keeps on giving. After 2 meals from it there's still enough left for sandwiches and possibly a curry, bulked out with veg. Rubber chicken! Curry may be tonight's meal, if not I'll freeze it for another time, plenty in otherwise.
Usual chores to do today, unless something more exciting happens.
Ruby, hope the meds work for your DM and shes soon feeling better.
Have a good day all, take care.12 -
Morning All
Dull and wet this morning, not very inspiring although it's very warm. I was waiting for rain and thunder storms yesterday but no thunder and it didn't rain until about 6pm. I put the washing out in the afternoon that dried well but will keep the rest for a better day. Made some rhubarb and ginger jam and tidied the garden - even sat out reading for a while.
Back to the allotment today to help tidy up from Saturday's open day and pick some more peas and beans, there are also lots of onions ready so will pull some of those too. Of course there will be more courgettes but I have homes for them!
Hope your Mum is ok Ruby.
Enjoy your exercise class Gers.
How are you and the new pooch getting on Rosy?
Hope you're well Nanny and just busy.
No dog duties today, friend's DD has a day off and friends return tomorrow morning.
Hope everyone is well and you have a good day. Take care. XX10 -
Morning everyone
I finished painting little ones bedroom yesterday...it's now a pretty shade of pink. I still need to order the flower fairy wall stickers she chose. I'm off to Belfast tomorrow for 3 nights so the cattery lady is picking the cats up this morning, They've had their breakfast and are both crying to get outside.
I've got a pile of ironing to do and then I'll pack...very lightly as I've only got a small bag.
DD and little one are having a great time at Butlins, she sent a lovely video yesterday of little one dancing.
Right, ironing...
Hope everyone has a good day and your mum is ok Ruby x10 -
Morning all! OH still alseep for a change, very slowly getting better, still off work. We spent some hours in urgent care on Friday just becausehe wasn't getting any better and was in more pain. Apparently normal [?] but we know now he has a cracked rib which helps some and I can stop worrying about him being short of breath when walking...In other news turns out I don't have the big nasty but do have COPD, which is another string to add to my bow. I have the body that keeps on giving
Anyway, the garden is coming on slowly, but it's allotment day today and probably for the rest of the week, I need to do stuff and sit and look at it so I can reorganise it in the winter. I made courgette fritters, salsa and potato salad yesterday so no cooking needed today even if OH and his friend decided to try and eat all the fritters
Gers, I meant to say, if you have trouble swallowing the tablets, chew a mouth full of food and then shove it in the middle and swallow. Much easier.
