hi,
we both have a NW CC on a 0% offer and each pay by DD. noticed a couple of weeks ago 2 new NW DD (one for each) appeared in our list. so today is the 1st time a payment was due on either since i saw the new DD. todays DD has come out of the "new" DD set up a couple of weeks ago. it has a reference set up which appears to be sort code/account number/last 4 digits of CC, whereas the original DD was the 16 digit CC number.

has this change happened for others? was there any notification?

i am OCD with this type of thing and want to delete the DD that is no longer required but had hoped it would be removed by NW/my bank automatically by now.

thank you.

I think full card number is needed as a reference only for bank transfers and SOs.
I have one DD in my NW account and the reference is alphanumerical 000000*********** with last four places being my CC last four digits.

    YES!!

I have had no notification either, however, I have just checked my Chase account, after seeing your post, and the DD that took this month's payment has been moved to Expired and there is a new DD in my list, marked Pending.

ALL  CC payments go to a internal account & then are transferred to the correct card account. No matter how they are processed. 👍

May I ask when your payment date was? I don't know whether to manually delete the "old" DD or give it some days and see if it disappears.

I simply don't want 2 DDs on the account.

Thanks guys. It wasn't how the reference was formatted it's the fact 2 DDs are sitting on my account for one payment and timings as to when to delete the "old" one.

I'd have thought it was worth a notification of Some kind from NW in advance but no Biggie other than to satisfy my OCD with this type of thing 😲

It won't be removed by the bank and it will likely not be removed by the payee just never asked for in the future

Yes, I've checked and my direct debit was taken last week with a different mandate

Had a similar thing a while back with JaJa but at least they had the foresight / decency to inform customers what was happening, the old DD was automatically removed :)

The now expired DD shows payment last taken 6 July 2025

New one states Pending (though I have a £0.00 balance on the CC statement this month)
