Help needed returning an item to Amazon

My son got an item from Amazon which he wants to return. The item is a Satnav which is so complicated to set up and there are no instructions. Even trying to follow the onscreen instructions is impossible.
So he has got it ready to return and followed the instructions to print off a return label.
The label says 'Cut and affix to the outside of the return package' which is fine except that the return address is printed in tiny letters at the bottom of the label and right across the middle of it are 3 lines to fill in which say 'From'.
Looking at the way it is designed I would not be surprised if after taking the item to the PO it would not get returned to his home address as that is the prominent address on the label.
The seller is Chinese but the return address is Southampton but it is written on the label in the smallest print imaginable.
Is that usual with Amazon returns? we have never had to return anything before.

Amazon usually give you a QR code to scan at the post office.
Log into your account. Instigate a return and it should process in this way
The post office will print the label0 -
Thank you for the reply. There is no option for a QR code. It says 'The seller has approved your return request. View return label and instructions'.
Underneath the label it does say - If you cant use the label or carrier provided by (sellers name) you can use a carrier of your own choice but will need to pay for postage. The label which has been provided also says Postage payment required.
We are just wary of it going missing due to the bad label.

If you are having to pay the postage yourselves then I would probably hand write the address myself. Is there any code etc on the returns label?0

From what you say you shouldn't be paying for postage anyway. Get back in touch with Amazon (go through their automated chat and you eventually get to someone human, I know what I'm doing and it can take me 3 or 4 attempts) tell them the item was not as described or fit for purpose and you want them to provide a pre paid return label. There's possibly a thin line on this in that it's sort of a change of mind but you've only changed your mind because it's not possible for you to use it in the state it is in and I'd guess not as described. If the return reason is not your fault then you are not required to pay for the return.I send out a lot of post and several labels appear with a very tiny address. As long as there's a clear barcode or other scannable code then it's usually ok..0

A further idea would be to write your own return address label somewhere else on the package so you're not swamping the bar code label with your info.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. TomTom Vio avoid from purchasing as it's basically a dead device no longer updated but people still sell them. As for returning, go to your order use menu, request a return, and select a reason. Basically has issues.0
