Can my 18 year old claim universal credit?

I will received child benefit for my son until the end of August. Is it possible for him to currently claim universal credit now, in his own right? Thanks.

Yes, but you need to close down Child Benefit from date of his UC claim and remove him as a child from your UC claim if you have one.
